Urogenital Infection Panel

Urogenital Infection Panel

Urogenital infection tests identify genetic material of clinically relevant pathogens that are mostly sexually transmitted. This approach helps to identify pathogens at early stages or in cases of non-symptomatic infections.

Diagnosis of urogenital infections is particularly important to select the right kind of treatment. Untreated infections may result in serious complications, including infertility.

The main advantage of this test lies in the fact that despite a wide range of pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungus), we can provide a complex, fast, sensitive and highly specific diagnosis of most common pathogens in urogenital infections.

The following tests are available as part of the Urogenital Infection Panel:

Panel of fungal infections of the urogenital tract caused by Candida Detection and identification of genetic material of 7 fungi of the Candida genus: Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida tropicalis, Candida parapsilosis, Candida krusei, Candida lusitaniae, Candida dubliniensis.
Diagnostics of infections and urogenital ulcers Detection, identification of genetic material of 7 pathogens: Cytomegalovirus , Herpes simplex virus type 1, Herpes simplex virus type 2, Varicella-zoster virus, Haemophilus ducreyi, Chlamydia trachomatis serowar L, Treponema pallidum.
Basic panel of genitourinary infections Detection, identification of genetic material of 6 bacteria and 1 protozoa: Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Ureaplasma parvum, Trichomonas vaginalis.
Full panel of genitourinary infections Detection, identification of genetic material of 20 pathogens: 4 viruses, 8 bacteria, 1 protozoa, 7 fungi of the genus Candida: Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida tropicalis, Candida parapsilosis, Candida krusei, Candida lusitaniae, Candida dubliniensis, Cytomegalovirus , Herpes simplex virus type 1, Herpes simplex virus type 2, Varicella-zoster virus, Haemophilus ducreyi, Chlamydia trachomatis (with serowar L), Treponema pallidum, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Ureaplasma parvum, Trichomonas vaginalis.
Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) diagnostic Detection, identification of genetic material::
with a quantification of 3 bacteria: Gardnerella vaginalis, Atopobium vaginae, Lactobacillus spp.;
without quantification of 4 bacteria: Megasphaera type 1, Bacterial vaginosis-associated bacteria 2 (BVAB2), Mobiluncus spp., Bacteroides fragilis.
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) diagnostic Detection and identification of genetic material 28 HPV genotypes:
19 high-oncogenic genotypes: 16, 18, 26, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68, 69, 73, 82;
9 low-oncogenic genotypes: 6, 11, 40, 42, 43, 44, 54, 61,70.

Urogenital swab or liquid based cytology (ThinPrep medium) are required for this test.

The technology we use in this test eliminates systematic errors resulting from a subjective interpretation according to the Nugent scale used in direct preparations (stained with the Gram method) of vaginal swabs.
