Swab collecting point – work in October summary

Our Testing Site, operating in the center of Poznań, had performed over 750 tests for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus  presence in October alone. Over 600 out of 750 tests were performed for NFZ (National Health Found) patients. The point operates with utmost care for the safety of staff and patients. Swab collectors are provided personal protective equipment, that includes: barrier suits, shoe covers, FFP3 filter masks, visors and two pairs of gloves, one of which is changed with every collection. Before the swab, patients are asked to disinfect their hands, the documents are also disinfected, and in addition, a virucidal UV-C lamp is used. A few hours of work at this point is extremely exhausting, yet our staff remain fully professional. Patients can be sure of the correctness of the swab, as well as the course of all formalities related to the examination. Towards the end of the day, all swab samples are transported to the genXone Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, where they are tested for presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The tests detect up to 4 genes of this pathogen. The results are available on the genXone platform within 24 hours of the samples’ arrival at the laboratory.

Tests performed as part of the Download Point activity account for approximately 3% of all tests performed in October by the Company’s laboratory. The activity of the Collection Point is part of the genXone mission to popularize genetics in everyday life.
