We carry out the test using Real-Time PCR multiplex technology. The main benefits of this approach are its sensitivity, specificity and speed, which is a priority with these types of tests. Unlike with traditional culture methods, this test can be conducted on patients up to 72 hours from the start of an antibacterial treatment. In such cases dead bacteria cells are identified. This test is also applicable in cases where small quantities of cerebrospinal fluid were obtained or where the sample contains a very small concentration of pathogens. .
